Unafraid to joke about subjects no other comedian has ever touched, Ian’s unique act challenges the traditionally macho, sex-obsessed world of stand up in ways you won’t believe. While subversively defining the outer edges of intersectionality of all human beings sexuality, and proving that laughter cuts across all gender identities, ultimately uniting us all.

Harvie is best known for his role as “Dale” in the critically acclaimed, Golden Globe and Emmy Award winning TV series TRANSPARENT on Amazon. You may have also seen Ian guest starring as ”Michael” on the soapy, nighttime drama, MISTRESSES on ABC; or as “Chris” on the hilarious, hit millennial sitcom YOUNG AND HUNGRY on Freeform; and multiple other appearances as himself on COMEDY CENTRAL’s THE NIGHTLY SHOW with LARRY WILMORE, CNN’s NEWSROOM with BROOK BALDWIN, COMICS UNLEASHED on ABC, and ROADTRIP NATION on PBS.

Harvie toured for years with Margaret Cho as her opening act, later turning cross-country headliner and groundbreaking transgender comedian; playing clubs, theaters, and colleges around the US, CAN, EUR and AUS. He has performed in a few of the world’s most prestigious comedy festivals: JUST FOR LAUGHS in Australia and Canada, and the MELBOURNE INTERNATIONAL COMEDY FESTIVAL in Australia.

In November of 2015, Ian was invited to give a TEDTalk on his own chosen topic, EVERYONE IS TRANS.

Most recently Harvie filmed his one-hour standup comedy special MAY THE BEST COCK WIN for SEESO (NBC’s digital network) and premiered January 2017 on SEESO, and on iTunes in March of 2017.
