Post Show Wrap Up

Post Show Wrap Up

I’m lying on my bed right now in beautiful Los Angeles, it’s friggin’ late and I’m truly beat. But I just have to write a quick note on here to recap tonight’s show. I just got home from El Cid and the first Ian Harvie Show. What a great time from beginning to end. I wasn’t looking for perfection, I was looking for organic and funny. It was a huge success and my guests were fantastic.

I began the show with my standup. I doled out some material about republicans being gay, relationships with women, about being Trans, and a little about my family and my parents were in the audience!! John Amaechi was seated next to my parents and I gave him a shout out for his giant balls (basketballs) for coming out and speaking publicly about being gay.

There was a fun and unexpected phone call from my Grandma in the beginning of the show – she still calls me by my childhood nickname, Pussycat (“How’s my Pussy doing?” Grandma asked). It was hard to get off the phone before she told her story about how there was a man in the ladies room the other day at the Ponderosa and he called her a walnut.

Here’s something interesting.. Who knew Jeffrey Sebelia was a little on the shy side? Did you know he went to tech school to learn how to sew about 5 years ago? I was honored to have him on the show. He’s a really sweet man and said the hardest thing about being on Project Runway show was being away from his 2 year old son, Harrison, for 5 weeks. That is my definition of a good human.

Now, I already knew Matt Alber possessed the voice of an angel from hearing him perform before and listening to his new album, but now I have a serious gay boy crush on him too, and I like girls! Soo handsome. His new album will be out on Silver Label in a few weeks. This is the kind of artist that is amazing live or recorded. Don’t miss a chance to see him in the LA area.

There were some brave audience members who dared to share stories from their filthiest moments in a public restroom. I started with my own which I think, helped set the tone. The participants won monster containers of lube compliments of Babeland.

In true style, Margaret Cho came out with her funny guns blazing! She and Edsion really hit it off doing impressions of each other sucking cock like babies (you had to be there) Margaret also confessed something a little bit dirty, she says she loves Butch dykes who role their own tampons. Whaat?!

I always loved The Carol Burnett Show as a kid – especially when she would answer questions at the close of the show. I would always lean in closer during the end of the show. I thought opening up the show to Trannie Questions would be educational and funny. It was both, wait until you see the clips.

Just so you know, the show was filmed and is being edited into an episode for your online viewing pleasure. It should be done in a few weeks and I will post it as soon as it’s ready and let you all know.

Thanks again to everyone who came to the show, my guests on the show, my amazing production crew. Thank you also to the venue, El Cid and my corporate sponsor, Babeland.

MUCH GRATITUDE,
LYMI,
XO – Ian
