Laura Ingraham Claims That Transgender Conference is “Killing Our Culture”
LAURA INGRAHAM CLAIMS THAT TRANSGENDER CONFERENCE IS “KILLING OUR CULTURE” ON FOX NEWS’ THE O’REILLY FACTOR
While guest hosting Fox News’ The O’Reilly Factor on Feb. 8, commentator Laura Ingraham debated Medea Benjamin, a spokeswoman for Code Pink who is opposed to military recruitment stations in Berkeley, Calif. Ingraham and Benjamin had the following exchange:
INGRAHAM: Are you—do you think that people have a right then to stop the, let’s say, transgender conference that’s happening next month at Berkeley? What if the push was to stop the transgender conference? Would you support that?
BENJAMIN: I don’t think that has anything to do with it, Laura..
INGRAHAM: Has nothing to do with the culture or a divisive issue?
BENJAMIN: It’s war that the American people are against.
INGRAHAM: Well, wait. You think – oh, no, let me get this straight. You think the majority of Americans would support a transgender conference in their communities? Are you kidding me?
BENJAMIN: A transgender conference. . . ..
INGRAHAM: Oh, come on.
BENJAMIN: . . . .is not killing people. It’s people discussing. We’re talking about a war.
INGRAHAM: And killing the culture, maybe.. That’s all.

THIS IS MY RESPONSE TO LAURA INGRAHAM’S REMARKS ON FOX NEWS
This is typical, deliberate and ignorant behavior from extreme right-wing Republicans like Laura Ingraham and The O’Reilly Factor to attempt to get viewers to focus on something completely unrelated instead of the REAL issue: The Iraq War is wrong and recruiting more troops to send there sending is wrong!
And what kind of ass-wipe tries draw a parallel between recruiting more troops to Iraq(and possibly to their death) and Transgendered people? I know I’m not the only one scratching my head with wrinkled brow, saying “Huh, say whaaa?”
The truth of the matter is that Transgendered folks have never hurt anything or anyone. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. It is remarks like Ingraham’s that keep people stupid, afraid and insite the kind of outrageous violent acts against Trans people that occur every day. Laura Ingraham’s remarks were unrelated, unfounded and unacceptable.
I wonder what she’ll talk about next? How gays are responsible for global warming? Good one Laura, good one.
